Four prompts, one chat, about 30 minutes. They find the single fastest way for you to make money, the person already doing it that you should copy, a day-by-day plan to your first paying customer, and the one thing that's been stopping you. Then you get the best prompts for freelancing, digital products, content and landing clients. It all works in ChatGPT or Claude.
The 4-Prompt Money Chain
The plan · 4 steps
- 1Tell the AI about yourself (or let its memory do it).
- 2Run the 4 money prompts in one chat, in order.
- 3Put the first week of your plan on your calendar.
- 4Pick one path from the bonus prompts and get your first client or sale.
Before you start
Your app
ChatGPT or Claude, any plan.
Your background
Your job, skills, the hours you have each week, your budget and anything you've tried before.
Your time
About 30 minutes for the chain.
Your first goal: One offer, one channel and your first paying customer.
Most people ask AI one vague question, get one vague answer and decide AI can't help them make money. The problem isn't the tool. It's the approach.
This chain works because each prompt builds on the last. By the fourth one, the AI knows your skills, the offer it picked for you, the person you're copying and your plan. It's not giving generic advice anymore. It's coaching you.
- Step 1 finds your one offer and one channel.
- Step 2 finds someone already making money that way and breaks down how they do it.
- Step 3 turns that into a day-by-day plan.
- Step 4 finds what's been holding you back and gets you past it.
Heads up: Run all four in the same chat. Don't start a new conversation between prompts. The whole point is that every answer feeds the next.
Maverick's tip
For Step 1, turn the thinking up. In ChatGPT, move the Thinking slider to High (on Free, tap Think). In Claude, raise the Effort setting to High. The first answer shapes everything after it.
Tell It About You
The more the AI knows about you, the better every prompt after this gets. Open a new chat and paste this first, filled in.
Here's some context about me before we start: - My name is [YOUR NAME] - I work as [YOUR CURRENT JOB OR ROLE] - My main skills are [LIST 3 TO 5 SKILLS] - I have experience with [RELEVANT EXPERIENCE] - I have about [X] hours per week available for a side project - My budget to start is [YOUR BUDGET, E.G. UNDER $100] - I've tried [ANY PAST ATTEMPTS] before
Be specific. "I'm good at writing" is fine. "I've written B2B email sequences for three years and my clients see 40% open rates" is way better.
Already using memory?
If the AI already knows you, it can pull from that too. Ask "What do you know about me?" to check, then paste the context above to fill any gaps.
- In ChatGPT: memory lives under Settings > Personalization.
- In Claude: memory is on by default on Free, Pro and Max. You'll find it under Settings > Memory.
Find Your Fastest Path to Income
This is where the chain starts. You're asking for one specific answer: not 15 side hustles, one offer and one channel.
Based on everything you know about me, what is the single fastest way for me to hit my income goal of [YOUR INCOME GOAL, E.G. AN EXTRA $200 A DAY]? Limit it to one offer and one channel only. No generic advice, be specific to my skills and what I can start this week.
Be specific with the goal: an extra $200 a day, $5,000 a month or $10,000 in 90 days. You'll get one offer (freelance copywriting, a coaching package, a small digital product) and one channel to sell it on (LinkedIn outreach, short-form content, cold email), with the reason that combo is your fastest path.
Maverick's tip
Not sure what number to use? Try an extra $200 a day. It's about $6,000 a month, which is meaningful, but you can hit it with one client paying $1,000 a week. That forces a practical answer instead of a fantasy.
If it doesn't feel right
Push back in the same chat: "That doesn't feel like a fit because [REASON]. What's the next best option given that?" It adjusts and keeps everything it already knows about you.
The one offer, one channel limit matters. Focus wins and scattered effort loses, so don't let it slide back into a list.
Find the Person to Copy
Now you have your offer, and someone out there is already making money doing exactly that. This finds them and breaks down their system so you can copy it.
Who is the one person already making money this exact way that I should be modeling? Give me their name and reverse engineer the specific moves that make them successful so I can copy the system.
You get a real person and how they do it: how they find clients, how they price, how they deliver, what their content looks like and what makes them stand out. Instead of weeks of researching competitors, you get the breakdown in about 30 seconds.
Follow-ups that work well
- What does their pricing look like? How do they package their offer?
- What's their client acquisition funnel? Walk me through it step by step.
- What content do they post that actually drives paying clients, not just likes?
After you get the name, look them up. Find their content, interviews and podcasts, and study their early moves.
Maverick's tip
If the name doesn't feel right, say "That person doesn't feel like the right fit because [REASON]. Give me someone who started with fewer resources." The value isn't the name anyway. It's the system you pull out of it.
Get Your Action Plan
Now the AI becomes the person it just picked and builds your plan. Actual tasks with actual deadlines. Start with the 7-day sprint to get your first customer fast.
The 7-day sprint
Pretend you are that person. Build me a seven-day action plan that needs less than $100 to start and gets me to my first paying customer. Be specific about what I do each day, what tools I need, and how many hours it takes.
The under-$100 limit is on purpose. It kills the "I need money to make money" excuse. Most service businesses can launch with a free design tool, a free email account and the skills you already have, so the plan focuses on outreach instead of expensive setup.
The 90-day plan
Want the bigger picture too? Run this in the same chat.
Pretend you are [THE PERSON FROM STEP 2]. Create me a 90-day action plan that needs less than $1,000 up front and gets me my first paying customer as soon as possible. Break it into three phases: - Days 1-30: Foundation - Days 31-60: Launch - Days 61-90: Scale For each phase, give me specific weekly tasks with time estimates.
You get a week-by-week plan: what to build, how to price it, where your first customers are, what content to make and the milestones for each phase.
Maverick's tip
Don't just read it, calendar it. Put the first week's tasks on your calendar as real time blocks. A plan without calendar blocks is just a wish list.
Break Through What's Holding You Back
Most people have a plan and never do it. Something stops them. This is the prompt most people don't know about, and it makes the biggest difference.
Act as my business coach. Ask me questions one at a time until you find the one thing that is holding me back from hitting my goal. Don't rush. Ask at least 5-7 thoughtful questions before diagnosing the issue. I want you to really understand my situation before you give advice. Then reframe it and give me a 48-hour plan to prove it works, followed by a two-week plan to build on it.
It asks questions one at a time until it finds your real block. Then it reframes the belief and gives you a quick experiment to prove it wrong.
Common blocks
| The block | The reframe | A 48-hour test |
|---|---|---|
| "I'm not qualified enough" | You only need to be one step ahead of your client | Offer one free session and collect feedback |
| "I don't have time" | You have more than you think | Track one day and find the 2 hours you're losing |
| "What if I fail?" | Failure is just data | Send one outreach message to 10 people and learn from the replies |
| "I don't know where to start" | You do, you're overthinking it | Do one task from Day 1 in the next 2 hours |
Heads up: Don't give the answer that sounds good. Give the real one. If it's "I'm scared nobody will buy it," say that. That's where the breakthrough happens.
Why the Chain Works
Each prompt stacks another layer: your skills, then a strategy, then a real person to model, then a plan in that person's voice. You'd never get that from one prompt. And Step 4 is the secret weapon. Plans are easy and doing them is hard, so the coaching prompt goes after the actual reason most people quit before they start.
Keep it going
- Run it again for every new goal. Someone at $0 gets a very different plan than someone at $5,000 a month trying to hit $20,000.
- Check in weekly. Come back to the same chat, paste your progress and ask for adjustments, like a weekly meeting with a business advisor.
- Get the plan out of the chat. Copy it into a doc or your to-do app and break it into weekly milestones.
Starting with $0 and no clear skill yet? My Zero Dollar Business Blueprint is a different chain built for exactly that. Want the AI to pick a side hustle for you? Try Let ChatGPT Build Your Side Hustle.
Bonus Prompts: Turn the Plan Into Income
Use these wherever you are. Run them in the same chat as your chain so the AI already knows your offer.
After your first customer
I've gotten [X] clients paying [PRICE]. How do I raise my prices without losing them? Give me a specific script and timeline.
I need more clients like the ones I already have. What's the exact outreach system to find 10 qualified leads per week?
I keep doing the same work for every client. Help me turn this into a scalable product or template I can sell at a lower price point to more people. Think courses, templates, or digital products.
Make Step 1 fit your situation
I'm a freelance writer with experience in [NICHE]. What's the single fastest way for me to make $200/day? Be specific about the type of writing, who pays the most, and where to find them.
I work full-time as a [ROLE] and have 2-3 hours per evening and weekends. What's the single best way to make $200/day using my [SPECIFIC SKILL] as a side income? Must be flexible enough to do outside business hours.
I don't have a specific marketable skill yet but I'm willing to learn. What's one skill I could pick up in 7 days that would let me start making $200/day? Give me the skill, how to learn it fast, and where to find my first client.
I have expertise in [AREA] and want to sell coaching or consulting. What's the one coaching offer I should lead with to make $200/day? What should I charge per session, and where do I find people who will pay for it this week?
Freelancing
Freelancing is the fastest way to start, because you're selling skills you already have and the AI makes you way faster.
| Service | What the AI does for you | What people typically charge |
|---|---|---|
| Copywriting | Drafts emails, landing pages, ads and sales pages. You edit and add the brand voice. | $500-$5,000 a project |
| Content writing | First drafts of blog posts, articles and LinkedIn content in minutes | $200-$2,000 a piece |
| Social media management | 30 days of posts, captions and hooks in one sitting | $1,000-$3,000 a month |
| Email marketing | Whole sequences: welcome, nurture, sales, re-engagement | $500-$3,000 a sequence |
| Resume and LinkedIn writing | Rewrites resumes and profiles for job seekers | $150-$500 a client |
| Business plans | Business plans and pitch decks | $1,000-$5,000 a plan |
Here's a full copywriting workflow, using a landing page as the example. A page takes 30 to 60 minutes this way, and people charge $500 to $2,000 for one.
I'm writing a landing page for [CLIENT NAME]. They sell [PRODUCT/SERVICE] to [TARGET AUDIENCE]. Their main competitors are [COMPETITOR 1] and [COMPETITOR 2]. Their unique selling proposition is [USP]. Analyze their market position. What are the top 5 pain points their target audience has? What emotional triggers should I hit in the copy? What objections will the reader have, and how should I address them?
Now write a high-converting landing page for this product. Use this structure: 1. Hero section: Attention-grabbing headline + subheadline + CTA 2. Problem section: Agitate the pain points you identified 3. Solution section: Introduce the product as the answer 4. Features/Benefits: 4-6 key benefits with supporting details 5. Social proof section: Placeholder for testimonials 6. FAQ section: Address the top 5 objections 7. Final CTA: Urgency + clear call to action Write in a conversational, confident tone. Use short paragraphs. Make every sentence earn its place.
Review the landing page you just wrote. For each section: 1. Cut any fluff or filler sentences 2. Make the headlines more specific and benefit-driven 3. Add power words that create urgency 4. Ensure every CTA is clear and action-oriented 5. Check that the copy flows naturally from one section to the next Rewrite the full page with these improvements.
Land and close clients
I offer [YOUR SERVICE] to [TARGET CLIENTS]. Write 5 cold outreach messages I can send via [LINKEDIN DM, EMAIL OR X DM]. Rules: - Lead with value, not a pitch. Offer a specific insight or quick win upfront. - Reference something specific about the recipient (I'll customize this part) - Keep it under 100 words - End with a soft CTA (question, not a hard ask) - No corporate jargon. Write like a human. For each message, include: 1. The message itself 2. When to send it (time of day, day of week) 3. A follow-up message to send 3 days later if no response 4. A breakup message to send 7 days after the follow-up
I offer [YOUR SERVICE]. My target clients are [WHO]. I currently charge [CURRENT PRICE OR "I HAVEN'T SET PRICING YET"]. Help me build a pricing strategy: 1. Research what competitors charge for similar services 2. Create 3 pricing tiers (Good/Better/Best) with clear scope for each 3. For each tier, tell me: what's included, what's not, ideal client profile, and profit margin 4. What anchor price should I put first to make the middle tier feel like a deal? 5. How should I present this on a sales call or proposal? 6. What's the exact script for handling "That's too expensive"?
Write a professional proposal for a potential client. Context: - Client: [NAME/COMPANY] - Their problem: [WHAT THEY NEED] - My solution: [WHAT I'M OFFERING] - Price: [YOUR PRICE] - Timeline: [DELIVERY TIMELINE] Structure: 1. Executive Summary (2-3 sentences showing I understand their problem) 2. Proposed Solution (what I'll deliver, broken into phases) 3. Timeline with milestones 4. Investment (pricing with payment terms) 5. Why Me (2-3 reasons I'm the right choice) 6. Next Steps (clear CTA) Keep it under 2 pages. Professional but warm. No fluff.
Sell research
With deep research in ChatGPT (every plan) or Research in Claude (paid plans, from the + menu), you can work like a one-person research firm. People sell market research reports ($500 to $5,000), competitive analyses ($1,000 to $3,000) and content strategy audits ($1,500 to $5,000). To find clients, post research samples on LinkedIn and offer founders a free mini-report on their competitors.
I'm preparing a competitive analysis report for a client in the [INDUSTRY] space. Their company is [CLIENT COMPANY] and their main competitors are [COMPETITOR 1], [COMPETITOR 2], and [COMPETITOR 3]. Research each competitor and create a detailed comparison covering: 1. Pricing tiers and packaging 2. Key features and product positioning 3. Target customer segments 4. Marketing channels and content strategy 5. Recent news, funding, or product launches 6. Customer reviews and sentiment (strengths + weaknesses) 7. Market share estimates if available Present the findings in a structured format with a comparison table and strategic recommendations for my client on how to differentiate.
Digital products
Make it once, sell it again and again.
| Product | Time to make with AI | Price range | Where to sell |
|---|---|---|---|
| E-books | 2-5 hours | $9-$47 | Gumroad, Amazon KDP |
| Online courses | 1-2 weeks | $47-$997 | Teachable, Udemy, Skool |
| Templates and swipe files | 1-3 hours | $19-$97 | Gumroad, Etsy, your site |
| Prompt packs | 2-4 hours | $9-$49 | Gumroad, PromptBase |
| Notion templates | 2-6 hours | $15-$79 | Gumroad, Etsy, Notion marketplace |
| AI assistant kits | 1-4 hours | Subscription or one-time | Gumroad, your site |
An e-book in a day. Validate the topic, outline it, then write it chapter by chapter.
I want to write a short e-book (30-50 pages) about [TOPIC]. My target reader is [AUDIENCE DESCRIPTION]. Before I write it, help me validate this idea: 1. What are the top 10 questions my target reader is Googling about this topic? 2. What existing books/courses cover this topic, and where are the gaps I can fill? 3. What unique angle would make this stand out from what already exists? 4. Is this a $9 impulse buy or a $47 premium resource? Why? 5. What title would make someone stop scrolling and buy this immediately?
Create a detailed chapter-by-chapter outline for this e-book. For each chapter, include: - Chapter title (compelling, benefit-driven) - 3-5 key sections within the chapter - One actionable exercise or template the reader can use immediately - The key takeaway the reader should walk away with Make the structure progressive: each chapter should build on the last. Include an introduction that hooks the reader and a conclusion that drives them to take action.
Write Chapter [X]: [CHAPTER TITLE]. Here's what to include: [PASTE THE OUTLINE FOR THIS CHAPTER] Write in a conversational, authoritative tone. Use real-world examples and analogies. Include the exercise/template I outlined. Keep paragraphs short (2-3 sentences max). Target 2,000-3,000 words for this chapter. Avoid generic filler. Every paragraph should teach something specific or give the reader a concrete action to take.
Run the chapter prompt once per chapter. Add an hour or two of editing and you have something to sell.
A prompt pack. One of the easiest products to make, because the AI is the tool you're writing prompts for.
I want to create a premium prompt pack for [NICHE/USE CASE]. The target buyer is [WHO WOULD BUY THIS]. Create 25 high-value prompts organized into 5 categories. For each prompt: 1. Write the full prompt (ready to copy-paste) 2. Explain what it does and when to use it (2-3 sentences) 3. Include one example of the output it produces 4. Add a "Pro Tip" for getting even better results Make the prompts progressively more advanced within each category. Include prompts that chain together (output of one feeds into the next).
An AI assistant kit. Custom GPTs and the GPT Store retire on December 11, 2026, and new ones can't be made on Free, Go, Plus or Pro, so don't build on them. The idea still works as a product: a great set of instructions plus a few knowledge files that solve one problem for one audience. Buyers drop it into their own ChatGPT or Claude project. Think a listing writer for real estate agents, a lesson plan builder for teachers or an objection handler for sales teams.
I want to build an AI assistant that solves a real problem for [TARGET AUDIENCE]. Help me design it: 1. What are the top 10 recurring tasks or frustrations that [TARGET AUDIENCE] faces daily? 2. Which of these could an AI assistant solve effectively? 3. For the top 3 candidates, write a detailed instruction set that includes: the assistant's role, tone, behavior rules, output format, and edge case handling 4. Suggest knowledge files I should include to make it more effective 5. What should I name it so it's easy to find and remember? 6. Write a compelling product description (under 300 characters) that makes someone want to try it immediately Format the instructions so a buyer can paste them straight into a ChatGPT project or Claude project.
Content that brings in buyers
Content drives every other path here: more visibility means more clients, more sales and more leads. Batch a month at once.
I create content about [YOUR NICHE] on [PLATFORM]. My target audience is [WHO]. My content style is [DESCRIBE YOUR VOICE: CASUAL, AUTHORITATIVE, FUNNY, ETC.]. Create a 30-day content calendar with: - 30 post ideas (one per day) - For each post: the hook (first line that stops the scroll), 3-5 key points, and a call-to-action - Mix of content types: 40% educational, 30% storytelling, 20% engagement/questions, 10% promotional - Each post should be ready to write in under 10 minutes Make the hooks irresistible. The first line is everything.
Generate 20 viral hooks for a [PLATFORM] post about [TOPIC]. Use these proven hook formulas: 1. Contrarian: Challenge a common belief 2. Story: Start with a compelling personal moment 3. Number: Use a specific, surprising number 4. Question: Ask something the reader can't ignore 5. Warning: Alert them to a mistake they're making For each hook, write 4 variations. Make them punchy, specific, and impossible to scroll past. No generic openings like "In today's world" or "Here's the thing."
Here's a [BLOG POST, YOUTUBE SCRIPT OR PODCAST TRANSCRIPT] I created: [PASTE YOUR CONTENT] Repurpose this into: 1. Three LinkedIn posts (different angles, each with a strong hook) 2. An X thread (10 posts) 3. Five Instagram carousel slides with headers and body text 4. Two short-form video scripts (30-60 seconds each) for TikTok/Reels 5. Three email newsletter paragraphs 6. One quote graphic text Keep my voice and tone consistent across all formats. Adapt the content for each platform's style, don't just copy-paste.
Build an email list
A list is an audience you own. Give people a free lead magnet, then a welcome sequence that leads to your paid offer.
I need a lead magnet for my [BUSINESS/NICHE]. My target audience is [WHO] and their biggest pain point is [WHAT]. Design a lead magnet that: 1. Can be consumed in under 10 minutes 2. Gives one specific, actionable win immediately 3. Naturally leads to my paid offer: [YOUR OFFER] 4. Has a title that's impossible to ignore Give me 5 lead magnet options with titles, descriptions, and an outline for each. Then write the full content for the best one.
Write a 7-email welcome sequence for someone who just downloaded my lead magnet about [TOPIC]. My paid offer is [PRODUCT/SERVICE] at [PRICE]. Email 1 (Day 0): Deliver the lead magnet + one quick win Email 2 (Day 1): Share a personal story about why I care about this topic Email 3 (Day 3): Teach one valuable lesson (give your best stuff for free) Email 4 (Day 5): Address the #1 objection my audience has Email 5 (Day 7): Case study or social proof Email 6 (Day 9): Soft pitch for my paid offer with a specific reason to buy now Email 7 (Day 11): Final pitch with urgency + recap of everything they've learned For each email write: subject line (with A/B variant), preview text, full email body (300-500 words), and CTA. Use a casual, helpful tone. Never be salesy or pushy.
Automate the boring parts
I run a [TYPE OF BUSINESS]. Here are the repetitive tasks I do every week: [LIST YOUR RECURRING TASKS] For each task, tell me: 1. Can you automate it fully, partially, or not at all? 2. If fully: write the exact prompt I should use 3. If partially: what's the human step, and how do I minimize it? 4. How much time will this save me per week? 5. Can I set it up as a scheduled task so it runs automatically? Then design a weekly automation system where AI handles as much as possible and I only touch what requires my judgment.
Both apps run scheduled tasks. My routines guide shows how to set them up.
Common Mistakes and Quick Fixes
| If this happens | Try this |
|---|---|
| You started a new chat between prompts | Run all four in one chat. Already split them? Paste the earlier answers into the new chat first. |
| The answers feel generic | Give it more about you: real numbers, real experience, real hours. Then run Step 1 again. |
| It hands you a list of side hustles | Remind it: "One offer and one channel only." |
| The offer doesn't fit you | Tell it why and ask for the next best option given that. |
| The person it names doesn't fit | Ask for someone who started with fewer resources, and look them up before you copy anything. |
| The plan needs money you don't have | Keep the budget limit in the prompt: under $100 for the sprint, under $1,000 for the 90 days. |
| You keep tweaking instead of doing | Ship something imperfect on Day 1. Polishing your offer page for a week is procrastination. |
| The plan stays in the chat | Put the first week on your calendar today. |
| Step 4 doesn't find anything real | Give the honest answer, not the one that sounds good. |
| Your posts or copy sound like AI | Paste a few things you've written and describe your tone in the prompt. |
