Setup in 3 Easy Steps
1. Install the Banana Skill
Go to Google and search "Banana Skill Claude". Click the first link and copy the URL from your address bar.
Then in Claude: Open the Claude desktop app, click the Code tab, paste the link into the chat, and type: "Install this skill."
2. Grab a Free Google AI Studio API Key
Head to aistudio.google.com and sign in with your Google account. Click API Keys in the left sidebar, hit Create API Key, and copy the key.
Then in Claude: Paste your API key into the same chat and say: "Set this up."
Keep your key private. Do not share your API key publicly or post it anywhere.
3. Redesign Your First Room
Drag a photo of your room into the Claude chat. Then type /banana and describe what you want.
Try this first: "/banana redesign this room like a professional interior designer. Make it feel modern and inviting."
Claude will generate a photo-realistic redesign of your room in about 30 seconds. From there you can ask it to change anything. Swap the sofa. Try a different color palette. Add a rug. Move the TV to a different wall.

Add an oversized abstract art piece above the couch. Keep the existing windows. Make it feel like a boutique hotel.
2. The Japandi Bedroom
/banana Transform this bedroom into a Japandi style sanctuary. Low platform bed in oak, white linen bedding, paper pendant lamp, small wabi-sabi ceramic vase, and a single piece of black ink wall art. Strip out everything unnecessary. The room should feel calm and intentional.
3. The Dream Home Office
/banana Redesign this as a high-end home office built for 8 hour work days. Pro Moves to Get Better Results
- Name the feeling, not just the style. "Feels like a Parisian apartment" beats "modern" every time
- Tell it what to keep. If you love your floors or a specific piece of furniture, say it
- Describe the light. "South facing with tons of natural light" or "dim evening vibe"
- Reference a real place. "Like a Soho House lounge" or "a Muji store"
- Always iterate. The first render is a starting point. Ask for one change at a time
- Ask for the shopping list. Once you love a design, type "List every piece of furniture and decor you used with approximate prices and where I could buy each"
Favorite pro move: After you generate a redesign, ask Claude to "now show me the same room at night with the lamps on." It recreates the exact same design but with evening lighting.
