Indeed now plugs straight into ChatGPT and Claude. This guide gives you the 30-second setup, the prompt that pulls every job you qualify for and ranks it by your odds of landing an interview, and the browser prompt that opens each listing, tailors your application and fills it in, so all you do is check it and say OK.

ChatGPT needs the desktop app and Work (Plus or higher for a full session). Claude needs a paid plan and the Claude in Chrome extension.

No more scrolling listings one at a time and pasting your resume into the same form forty times. It works in two halves.
- Indeed finds. The plugin (ChatGPT) or connector (Claude) searches Indeed's live listings using your profile, shows pay, ratings and details right in the chat, and gives you an Apply on Indeed link for each job.
- The browser applies. ChatGPT Work's built-in browser or Claude in Chrome opens each listing signed in as you, tailors the application and fills in the form. You check it and say OK, then it submits.

Every Job You Qualify For, Ranked
Connect Indeed first (Step 1 takes 30 seconds), upload your resume to a new chat, then paste this. It's the prompt from the video.
Use Indeed and what is on my resume to find every job I am qualified for that was posted in the last seven days, and rank them by how likely I am to land an interview. For each one give me the title, company, location or remote, pay if listed, a match score out of 100, and one line on why it scored that way. Put the full list in a table, best odds at the top.
In ChatGPT: type @Indeed at the very start so the message goes straight to the plugin. In Claude: just paste it. With the connector on, Claude picks up Indeed from the prompt.
The seven-day window matters, because fresh postings are where the replies come from. The first pass is rarely the final one, so tune it with the prompts in Step 3 until the top of the list looks like jobs you'd actually want.
Maverick's tip
The match score is the AI's read of how your resume lines up with the posting, not Indeed's. Use it to sort, not as a promise. A 92 at a company you'd hate is still a no.
Connect Indeed (30 Seconds)
Before you connect anything, open indeed.com, sign in and fill in your profile: a resume, your work history, skills, location and job preferences (title, pay, remote or not). Indeed matches you off that profile, so an empty one means a thin search no matter how good the prompt is. A rough resume is fine for now. You'll swap in a better one in Step 2.
In ChatGPT
- Click Plugins in the left sidebar (or go to chatgpt.com/plugins).
- Click Search plugins and type Indeed.
- Open Indeed Job Search (by Indeed) and click Install plugin.
- Sign in to Indeed in the window that pops up and allow the connection.
That's the whole install. Type @Indeed at the start of any message to use it. It works in a normal chat on any plan, so you don't need Work for this part.
In Claude
- Click Customize in the left sidebar, then Connectors.
- Use Discover (or the + button), search for Indeed and add it.
- Sign in to Indeed when it asks.
Shortcut: open claude.com/connectors/indeed and click Add to Claude.
Test it
Use Indeed to find me remote [JOB TITLE] roles posted this week that pay at least [SALARY], and show me the three with the best company ratings.

Fix Your Resume First
Indeed can only match you as well as your resume describes you, and the browser can only tailor what's already there. So spend ten minutes here before you search. A recruiter spends about seven seconds on a first pass, and the resumes that survive all have the same shape. Google's recruiting team gave it a name: the XYZ formula.
"Accomplished [X] as measured by [Y], by doing [Z]." Every bullet says what you achieved, the number that proves it and how you did it. It turns a duty into a result a hiring manager can picture.

First, the honest recruiter read
Upload your current resume to a normal chat and run this. It tells you which roles you're actually competitive for and what a hiring manager would flag in the first ten seconds.
Act as a senior recruiter with 15 years in talent acquisition. Based on my attached resume: 1. List the 15 job titles I am most qualified for, ranked by strength of fit. 2. For each title, list the exact keywords applicant tracking systems scan for in that role. 3. Identify any gaps or weaknesses a hiring manager would notice in under 10 seconds. 4. Rate my resume 1 to 10 and tell me exactly what would move it to a 10. Be honest. I need the real assessment, not a polite one.
Then rewrite every bullet
Now rewrite my resume using the Google XYZ formula. Every bullet must read "Accomplished [X] as measured by [Y], by doing [Z]," with a real number in every bullet. If I did not give you a number for something, ask me for it instead of inventing one. Keep my job titles, companies and dates exactly as they are. Weave in the ATS keywords from the top three roles you identified, but only where they are true. Keep it to one page if I have under 10 years of experience, two pages otherwise. Give me the finished resume as a downloadable Word file.
It'll stop and ask you for numbers. Answer them properly. A real number you had to think about beats a vague adjective every time, and a made-up one is the fastest way to lose an interview. In Claude, the Word file needs Code execution and file creation turned on under Settings > Capabilities.
Now put the new resume on Indeed
On indeed.com, open your profile, replace the stored resume with the new file and paste the new bullets into your work history. Indeed matches jobs off your profile, and Indeed Apply sends the resume stored there. Two minutes here decides whether every application goes out with the good resume or the old one.

Pull Every Job You Qualify For
Start a new chat, upload the new resume and run the Copy This First prompt. Then tune it with these. In ChatGPT, start each one with @Indeed.
Narrow it down
Run the same Indeed search again but only remote roles at companies rated 4 stars and up on Indeed, and add roles one level above my current title. Re-rank the combined list and mark anything new.
Widen it
Now search Indeed for titles that use different words for the same job as mine (for example "client success" and "account manager" for "customer success"), posted in the last 7 days, within 30 miles of my location or remote. Add anything with a match score above 70 to the list.
Filter by pay
Use Indeed to find jobs matching my resume that pay between [MINIMUM SALARY] and [MAXIMUM SALARY]. Only include jobs that list salary in the posting. Rank by compensation first, then match quality.
Go after specific companies
Use Indeed to find open positions at these companies that match my resume: [YOUR TARGET COMPANIES]. Include any role I'm qualified for, even if the title doesn't match my current one exactly.
Changing careers
I want to move from [CURRENT FIELD] to [TARGET FIELD]. Using the transferable skills on my resume, search Indeed for entry and mid-level roles in [TARGET FIELD] posted in the last 14 days. Highlight which of my existing skills apply to each role.
Turn the list into a tracker
Once the list looks right, get it as a file so you have something to work from as applications go out.
Save the top 50 from the ranked list to a spreadsheet with these columns: Rank, Title, Company, Location, Pay, Match Score, Link, Date Applied, Status, Notes. Leave the last three blank. Give me the file.
Gut-check the companies
Indeed's company pages come through too, which is faster than opening ten tabs of reviews.
Use Indeed to tell me more about working at [COMPANY]. Give me the overall rating, what employees say about pay and management, and anything in the reviews that would make me think twice.
Let the Browser Apply
This is the part from the video. The AI opens each listing, reads the job description, tailors your summary, your bullets and a short cover letter to it, and fills in the form. You check each one and say OK before it submits, so nothing goes out under your name that you haven't seen.
In ChatGPT
- Open the ChatGPT desktop app (chatgpt.com/download) and switch to Work at the top.
- Open the built-in browser, go to indeed.com and sign in. It keeps its own logins, separate from Chrome, so once is enough.
- Keep approvals on, so it shows you each application and waits before it submits.
- Start the prompt below with @Browser, in the same chat as your ranked list (or attach the tracker file).
Work runs on a usage allowance that resets every five hours on Plus, so start a big session at the beginning of a fresh window.
In Claude
- Install Claude in Chrome from the Chrome Web Store (Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise) and sign in with your Claude account.
- Sign in to Indeed in that same Chrome.
- In your chat, open the + menu by the message box, go to Connectors and turn on Claude in Chrome. It's off by default in every new chat.
- Leave the permission setting in the message box on Manual (the default).

The apply prompt
Go through my ranked job list in the browser, starting from the top, and work through the top [NUMBER] jobs. For each one, open the listing on Indeed, read the job description, and tailor my application to it: rewrite my summary and the three most relevant bullets in the Google XYZ formula using the exact keywords from the description, and write a four-sentence cover letter that names the company and the role. Fill in every required field using my Indeed resume. Before you click Submit, show me what you filled in and wait for my OK. If a listing needs a login, an assessment, or a question you can't answer, skip it and add it to a "do manually" list. Keep a running table of company, title, date applied and status, and give me the full report when you're done.
Read the first few closely. Once the cover letters look right, you're saying OK in seconds.
If it stops partway
Continue applying from where you stopped. Check the tracker for the last job marked Applied, skip anything already submitted, and carry on down the list, still showing me each application before you submit. Update the tracker as you go.
Maverick's tip
Listings marked "Easily apply" are the fast lane, because the whole form lives inside Indeed. Ones that bounce to a company career site take longer, ask more custom questions and make up most of the "do manually" list. Want volume? Add "Easily apply listings first" to the prompt.
Heads up: The browser runs on your computer, so keep the app (or Chrome) open and the computer awake and plugged in while it works.
The next morning
Work the "do manually" list yourself. Those are usually the career-site jobs with the fewest other applicants. Then run the Copy This First prompt again with "posted since yesterday" and feed the new ones in.
How It Works and What to Expect
The Indeed plugin and connector do the finding: they search jobs using your profile and goals, pull the details on any listing, show company overviews and employee ratings, and give you the Apply on Indeed link. They don't submit applications on their own. That's the browser's job, and it's why Step 4 exists.
When I tried a version of this with ChatGPT's old agent mode, I got 12 interview requests in 24 hours, from strong matches where the resume actually lined up with what the company needed. The Indeed plugin makes the finding faster and cleaner, because the listings come from Indeed directly instead of a browser scraping pages.
Works best
- Easily apply listings. The whole form is inside Indeed, so these go through fast.
- High-volume fields. Sales, customer success, support, admin, marketing coordinators, junior tech.
- Remote roles. The biggest pool of fresh postings every day.
- Entry to mid-level. Simpler applications, and the XYZ resume moves the needle most here.
Takes more of you
- Career-site redirects. Custom questions, separate logins, sometimes a CAPTCHA you click yourself.
- Senior and specialist roles. Hiring managers read every word. Do these by hand with the bonus prompts.
- Fresh file uploads. Easily apply listings use your stored Indeed resume, so stick with those for speed.
Indeed's terms ask that applications go through its own tools, and it can flag accounts that look automated. Approving each application yourself keeps you in charge of what goes out, which is exactly what you want anyway.

Search LinkedIn too
This one uses the browser (Work in ChatGPT, Claude in Chrome in Claude).
Go to LinkedIn and Indeed in the browser. Find every job matching the top titles from my recruiter analysis that was posted in the last 7 days. Build me a spreadsheet with these columns: - Job Title - Company Name - Location (or Remote) - Link to the listing - Match Score (1-100 based on my resume fit) - 3 keywords from the listing I should emphasize Sort by match score, highest first.
A cover letter worth reading
Write a four-sentence cover letter for the [ROLE] role at [COMPANY] using my resume. Sentence 1: the single result from my resume most relevant to this posting. Sentence 2: why this specific company (use something real from their site or the posting, not flattery). Sentence 3: what I would do in the first 90 days. Sentence 4: a plain ask for a conversation. No buzzwords, no "I am excited to apply."
Reach the hiring manager
Write a cold email I can send to the hiring manager for [JOB TITLE] at [COMPANY NAME]. Research the company and find something they recently launched, announced, or published. Open with a genuine observation about that. Then bridge to why I would be a good fit, using one concrete result from my resume. Close with a low-pressure ask: would they be open to a 15-minute call this week. Make it sound like a real person, not a template. Under 150 words.
Write a short LinkedIn connection request message for a [TITLE] at [COMPANY]. Keep it under 300 characters. Reference something specific about their work or company. Don't ask for a job directly. Just start a conversation.
Follow up without sounding desperate
I applied to [JOB TITLE] at [COMPANY NAME] [X] days ago and have not heard back. Write a short follow-up email that: 1. Does not sound desperate or pushy. 2. Adds something new (a recent project, an article I wrote, a relevant insight about their industry). 3. Re-states why I am a strong fit in one line. 4. Ends with a clear next step. Keep it under 100 words.
Get ready for the interview
I have an interview at [COMPANY NAME] for [JOB TITLE] in [X] days. Build me a complete briefing: - What the company does and who their customers are - Recent news, product launches, or funding rounds - Their biggest competitors and market position - The team I would be joining (if you can find info on LinkedIn) - 5 smart questions I can ask the interviewer that show I did my research - Common interview questions for this role - 3 stories from my resume I should prepare to tell, matched to what this company cares about
Based on this job description and my resume, list the 10 questions I am most likely to be asked, including the two that would be hardest for me given the gaps in my experience. For each one, give me a STAR-format answer using real examples from my resume, kept under 90 seconds spoken.
You are the hiring manager for [ROLE] at [COMPANY]. Here is the job description: [PASTE JOB DESCRIPTION]. Interview me. Ask one question at a time, wait for my answer, then give me a score out of 10 and the stronger version of my answer before moving on. Salary, before you say a number
Use Indeed to find the posted pay range for [ROLE] jobs in [CITY OR REMOTE] right now. Then, based on that range and my experience level, tell me the number I should anchor at, the number I should not go below, and give me a two-sentence script for answering "what are your salary expectations" that keeps the range open without lowballing myself.
I have an offer for [ROLE] at [COMPANY]: base [BASE SALARY], bonus [BONUS], [OTHER DETAILS]. Draft a short, warm negotiation email asking for [TARGET], backed by two specific points from my experience and the market range, and offer one alternative if base is fixed (signing bonus, extra PTO, or an earlier review). Keep it under 150 words.
Find your skill gaps
Based on my resume and the top job titles from the recruiter analysis, identify: 1. The 5 skills that show up most often in job listings I am targeting but are missing from my resume. 2. For each missing skill, tell me the fastest way to learn it (free course, certification, or project I can build). 3. Which of these skills would have the biggest impact on my match score if I added them? 4. Any certifications that would immediately boost my applications.
Review the week
Review my job search progress this week. I applied to [X] jobs. I got [Y] responses. Based on which jobs got responses and which didn't, what patterns do you see? Should I adjust my resume, target different roles, or change my approach?

Heads up: Every application goes out with your name on it. Read what it filled in before you say OK, and keep invented numbers out of your resume.
