ChatGPT just released something insane

OpenAI just dropped three new GPT-5.6 models and the government is officially getting involved in how these things get released so I'm breaking all of that down with some honest thoughts on what this actually means for all of us. I'm also showing you how Claude just connected to Indeed and made job searching way easier, I'm finally doing a full breakdown on Lovable which is the tool I run my website on, I've got a four prompt chain that might actually help you make some side income with AI, and I'm answering a question from the DMs that I've been getting nonstop.

The New GPT-5.6 Models Just Changed the Game Again

We knew this was coming... but OpenAI just released three new GPT-5.6 models that finally compete with some of Claude's recent releases and they are seriously changing the game. They're calling them Sol, Terra, and Luna because apparently we name AI models like planets now. I could dive into all the benchmarks and specs surrounding these models but I'll just cut to the chase and say these models are good. Like really really good. They take a huge jump in coding, scientific reasoning, and the ability to run autonomous tasks all at once.

But here's the part that I think is way more interesting than the models themselves. The government is now officially getting involved in how these things get released. Earlier this month Trump signed an executive order and one of the biggest pieces of it is a framework where companies like OpenAI give the government access to their frontier models before they go public. So right now GPT-5.6 is actually limited to only about 20 approved companies and not everyone yet. Think about that for a second. Imagine your competitor gets the newest AI technology and you don't even have access to it. It's definitely something worth paying attention to. And it's hard because there's two sides to this. On one hand these models have gotten so powerful that security makes sense. But on the other hand countries like China now have more time to compete with the innovation we're developing and at some point they might be able to overtake us. There's no easy answer here.

Here's my honest take. We're building models right now that are so smart we can't even fully comprehend how smart they are. I'm pro-AI, you all know that. But we're entering a phase where these tools are making real decisions with real autonomy and the companies building them are all racing each other at full speed while simultaneously trying to figure out what the rules even are. The good news is that competition is actually benefiting us as the consumer. Things are going to get cheaper and the models are only getting better. Just two years ago the idea of AI running your ads, applying to jobs for you, or managing your entire business would have sounded like science fiction. Now it's a Tuesday.

Claude + Indeed = Unlimited Job Applications

🌟 TOOL OF THE WEEK

Lovable

You've probably heard of Lovable. Right now it's probably one of the biggest AI tools out there and one of the first AI startups to be valued at over $6 billion. It's been around for a while but is it actually good? I get this question a lot and here's my breakdown. In my opinion it's the most beginner-friendly tool for building interactive apps, websites, and landing pages out there right now. This section is not sponsored at all. I've built my entire website on this tool and I can say for certain it's one of the best AI tools out there.

But how does it really compare to Claude Code or Codex? If you're building a fully interactive app or a complex dashboard with a lot of moving pieces, Claude Code or Codex is the way to go. It gives you way more control and you can really get into the details. But for spinning up a landing page, a personal website, or anything where you want something that looks clean really fast... Lovable is the move. The UI is obviously way better than working in a code editor and Lovable actually uses the same models like Opus and GPT in the backend.

This is a fun one to try. I put together a four prompt chain that uses what Claude already knows about you to help you figure out the fastest way to start making some side income. It uses your skills, your experience, and what you're actually good at to build you a personalized action plan. Run all four of these in the same chat:

💬 FROM THE DMs

"If You Had to Bet on One Company to Win the AI Race, Who Would It Be?"

I get this question all the time and I've been wanting to give a real answer on it. First off I don't think there's going to be one single winner here. A lot of the companies we know today will come and go over time but at the end of the day the best ones are going to be using each other's technology to grow. Just like how Intel and Microsoft built the entire PC era by feeding off each other's success. That's how these things tend to play out. To start I do believe that the newer startups like OpenAI and Anthropic are building some incredible things. It's really crazy to see how much research and innovation they're putting into this market. But we'll have to see how this plays out over time and if they can handle their spending.

Here's the thing... at the end of the day this is all going to come down to which company people decide to trust. Whether we like it or not we're headed towards a world where we're going to have to give AI access to a lot of our personal information. Our emails, our calendars, our spending patterns, maybe even private conversations and family stuff. That's the reality. And the company that wins this race is going to be the one that holds the most trust.

So if I had to put my chips on one company... it's Apple. You've probably heard me talk a lot of shit about Apple Intelligence and don't get me wrong it's absolute garbage. But if what Apple spoke about at WWDC is actually what they're going to release with the redesigned Siri, the new Apple Intelligence features across every app, and iOS 27... that could genuinely change the game. Apple has the one thing that none of these other companies have and that's the trust of billions of people who hand them their most personal data every single day without even thinking about it. That's a massive advantage and it's who I'll be putting my bets on.

I also think it's really worth keeping an eye on some of these open source models. They're getting better really fast and we might be headed towards a direction where open source is actually the way to go for a lot of people. When you can run a model locally on your own hardware and nobody else has access to your data that changes everything.

At the end of the day I think it's still too early to make a definitive call. But the conversation around trust, spending, and who actually earns people's confidence... that's going to be the real story of the next few years.
