Meet Maverick Maltin, the 19-Year-Old Helping Millions of People Actually Understand AI

    By Maverick Maltin for MavGPT

Nine months. That's all it took for Maverick Maltin to go from zero followers to 3 million across social media, racking up over a billion views in the process. Not by being the smartest person in the room. By being the clearest.

Maltin doesn't write code. He's not an AI researcher. He's a 19-year-old who got obsessed with artificial intelligence during a summer where he had nothing else going on, and started explaining what he was learning to anyone who would listen. Turns out, a lot of people wanted to listen.

"When I looked at AI content online, almost all of it was too technical," Maltin says. "Nobody was making it for the average person. For your mom who wants to use ChatGPT but doesn't know where to start. For the small business owner who keeps hearing about AI but has no idea what to do with it."

So he started posting on TikTok. His first video got 250 views. His fourth hit a million. He wasn't guessing what would work. He was studying what already worked on the platform and putting his own spin on it. That approach carried him to Instagram, then YouTube, then everywhere else. One video alone pulled 34 million views. Another single post gained him 100,000 followers in days.

What separates Maltin from the rest of the AI creator space isn't just his ability to simplify. It's how intentionally he builds. He doesn't post and hope something hits. He reverse-engineers content that's already proven to work, breaks down why it connects, and rebuilds it in his own voice. His videos are fast on purpose. No filler, no pauses, no moments where you'd think about scrolling. And every piece of content is structured so the payoff comes at the very end, which means you can't leave halfway through and still get the value. That kind of intentionality is rare for any creator, let alone someone who started less than a year ago. But it explains why the growth hasn't slowed down and why the audience that shows up actually stays.

The brands noticed. OpenAI partnered with him. Then Starbucks. Canva. Perplexity. Over 100 brand collaborations at this point, though Maltin says he turns down more deals than he takes. "If I don't use the product or believe in it, I'm not promoting it. Your trust is the only thing that matters."

That philosophy is why he built MavGPT.ai, a free resource hub with every prompt, workflow, and guide he's created. No paywall. No $500 course. Just free AI education for anyone who wants it. While other creators charge hundreds for the same information, Maltin gives it away because he thinks the basics of AI should be accessible to everyone.

He's currently based in Austin, building out his platform and creating daily content. His goal? Millions of followers and millions of dollars, not because the money matters, but because it proves you can build a real business by helping people for free.
